First United Methodist Church Long Beach feels that music is an important part of the worship experience. Our church has many talented musicians, both vocal and instrumental, that lend their time and talents to the praise and enjoyment of the congregation for a complete worship experience.  We currently have the following large ensemble groups:

CHANCEL CHOIR — This is the primary worship choir for Sunday worship service and for special occasions throughout the year, such as Lent, Advent and patriotic holidays.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7pm. 

HANDBELL CHOIR — The handbell choir provides instrumental music for worship services and on special occasions throughout the year. 

THAT MEN’S GROUP AND RUTH — This is men’s group that specializes in singing Gospel Quartet style music for worship services and for special occasions throughout the year.  Contact J. D. Tripp for rehearsal times.

GLORY BE — A ladies ensemble specializing in SA/SSAA musical arrangements to be sung throughout the year for worship services and special occasions.  Contact Mandy Long for rehearsal times.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP TEAM — A band that performs during “Just July” when the Chancel Choir is on break and for special occasions throughout the year. 

CHILDREN’S CHOIR — The children sing occasionally for worship services and special occasions throughout the year.  Rehearsals are at 9:30am Sunday Mornings in Moore Hall.

YOUTH WORSHIP TEAM — A Youth Worship Team is now leading a new youth worship service called the “The Well” on Wednesday Evenings.  Contact Emily Barlow for more information.

Additional instrumental and vocal soloists and ensembles contribute periodically to help in the worship experience.
