The M.O.S.A.I.C. (Making Our Souls Alive In Christ) Mission Work Camp for 2006 was a huge success! “Picking up the Pieces” was the theme for the year.
ISAIAH 58:11-12 11The LORD will guide you continually, watering your life when you are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. 12Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as the people who rebuild their walls and cities.
Our goal was to reach out to the people of Long Beach and surrounding communities with the love of Jesus Christ. We wanted to help those that are less fortunate than we are by repairing their homes and helping them to have a better standard of living, but we also wanted to share Jesus with them. We wanted to give teenagers the opportunity to serve this community and share their faith with others.
Youth and Adults attended from six churches: First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, MS The Orchard United Methodist Church of Tupelo, MS Jumpertown United Methodist Church of Booneville, MS First United Methodist Church of Wiggins, MS Parkway Heights UMC of Hattiesburg, MS West End United Methodist Church of Nashville, TN
The worship service each night was lead by Will Rambo and the Youth Worship Team of The Orchard United Methodist Church of Tupelo, MS.
Thanks go to many volunteers who made this happen, including site coordinators, youth staff, adult staff, kitchen staff, and supporting Sunday school classes. |
