The women of First United Methodist Church Long Beach are very active in several activities.

United Methodist Women (UMW) are the women of our church who meet once a month in small groups called circles. There are meetings at night and during the day.  You do not have to be a church member to be a member of UMW. Our church currently has 5 circles:

             Circle 1 meets on 3rd Mondays at 7pm

             Circle 2 meets on 2nd Tuesdays at 9:30am.

             Circle 3 meets on 2nd Tuesdays at 9:30am.

             Susana circle meets on 3rd Mondays at 9:30am.

             Sisters of Grace meet on Mondays at 6:30pm.

The UMW sponsored Spring (the first Saturday in May) and Fall (the first Saturday in October) rummage/bake sales raise the funds to support over a dozen missions. For more information about United Methodist Women contact UMW President, Joyce St. John.

 

There are two Ladies Bible Studies that meet weekly.   One study group, led by Margaret Genesse, meets at 9:30am on Tuesdays.  The second study group, led by Joan Holyfield, meets at 6:00pm on Thursdays.

 

Moms In Touch is a women’s prayer group that meets at 12:30pm and 6pm on Wednesdays.

 

The women’s Glory Be music ensemble meet at 6pm on Wednesdays.  Glory Be performs occasionally during worship services and at other functions.
