Besides their active participation in all phases of the program at First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, the women of the congregation sponsor several activities that are primarily for adult women.

 United Methodist Women (UMW)

 

             UMW is an international organization within the United Methodist Church. The women                                of our church meet once a month in  small groups called circles. Glory Be Ladies’ Singing Ensemble

 

             Glory Be is a women’s ensemble which sings periodically during church services and presents                         programs at church functions.

 

Ladies Bible Studies

 

             Bible study groups using the Beth Moore study, “ Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman” began                           meeting the second week of September. A daytime group led by Anna Fleming meets at 9:00am on              Tuesdays in the Seekers classroom, and an evening group led by Joan Holyfield meets on                             Thursdays at  6:00pm in the Good News classroom.

            

Moms In Touch

 

             Moms in Touch is a women’s prayer group that meets at 12:30pm on Wednesdays in the church                     parlor (Bride’s room). They pray especially for our schools and children.
